What is KBLI?
KBLI is Indonesia's official business classification system.
Think of it as a unique number that defines what your company
does. Every business registered in Indonesia must have one. The
2025 edition contains 1,562 five-digit codes maintained by BPS
(Statistics Indonesia) under Regulation No. 7/2025.
Foreign Investment Rules
Each business code has a foreign investment status that tells
you if foreigners can invest: Open —
Foreign investors can own up to 100% of the company Restricted
— Foreign investment is allowed but with conditions (e.g.,
max ownership percentage or local partner required) Closed —
Foreign investment is not permitted in this sector
